The role
As a Supportability Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of ensuring our complex defence and aerospace systems remain operational and effective throughout their lifecycle. Your work will directly contribute to national security and help deliver engineering solutions that protect lives. This is a role where your expertise will make a tangible difference, while offering you opportunities for professional growth and development.
Day-to-day, you’ll be liaising with internal and external stakeholders applying engineering domain knowledge to provide technical solutions in the delivery of:
1. Analysing maintenance requirements and develop support strategies for critical systems.
2. Collaborating with Engineering teams to optimise reliability and availability.
3. Producing technical documentation and reports to support decision-making.
4. Identifying cost-effective solutions for long-term asset management.
5. Ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Supportability Engineer - Maintenance Derivation
6. Extensive experience in Integrated Product Support, Maintenance Planning, or Support Engineering within complex engineering programmes.
7. Proven ability to identify, assess and mitigate risks, taking a proactive approach to minimise project and programme impacts.
8. Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with confidence in presenting technical concepts to diverse audiences.
9. Solid understanding of engineering standards, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance principles.
Qualifications for the Supportability Engineer - Maintenance Derivation
10. Degree in Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
11. Incorporate Engineer (IEng) status or working towards professional registration.
