St Michael's CE Middle School is looking for a Class Teacher - Key Stage 2 to join our fantastic {Team:} team. Could this be you?
Actual Salary - Main Pay Scale 1-6 only.
This job is Full Time - term time only.
It is offered on a temporary basis until 31 August 2026.
Approximate start date 1 September 2025.
We are looking for a Key Stage 2 teacher with the ability and enthusiasm to also teach Key Stage 3 English. This is an exciting opportunity for a primary practitioner with a passion for English to teach the subject at a higher level than is typically possible within the primary school system. The role will be based within our Year 5 team where you will be a tutor for a Year 5 class and teach the majority of lessons within this year group. As Year 5 pupils are new to our Middle School, tutors play a key role in helping them settle in—working closely with pupils, parents, and staff to support this transition.
In addition to your Year 5 responsibilities, you will also be part of the team delivering English lessons to Key Stage 3.
We would welcome applications from Early Career Teachers.
A clean driving licence and your own transport is essential for travel across the Trust’s multiple sites and schools.
Please refer to the attached job description for more details about the role.

About our School
Founded in 1971 St Michael’s Middle School is a Church of England school set in stunning grounds in Colehill, on the outskirts of Wimborne Minster, Dorset. With around 600 pupils, our school covers year groups 5-8 (ages 9 to 13) and is consistently oversubscribed on first choice applications.
Middle schools have the advantage of being able to blend together the best parts of primary school teaching with subject specialist teachers and facilities. Pupils study a full breadth of subjects over their four years at the school. Our facilities include science laboratories, product design and cooking workshops, specialist music rooms, ICT suites and PE facilities, including an indoor swimming pool.
We are also proud to offer a wide range of clubs and activities. Each year there are activity weeks, with both residential and day trips available to the pupils. Our school benefits from a strong relationship with the wider community, with local businesses helping deliver our careers provision and charitable groups working with some of our more vulnerable pupils.
St Michael’s achieves high standards and has a robust self-review procedure to explore ways of maintaining and improving these standards. We do not, however, believe in change for change for change’s sake, so we constantly challenge ourselves first with the question, “Is this going to be better for our pupils?’.
We have had our efforts recognised by Ofsted 2018, graded as a good school ,and by SIAMS who judged the school ‘excellent’ in 2019. We have also achieved a number of awards including the Platinum Level School Games Award, the National Music Mark and accreditation as an Eco-School.
