Overview
We are seeking two Care Support Workers to join the Day Services team at Portland Charity. The role involves supporting our citizens to enjoy their time with us while developing social skills, confidence, independence and overall wellbeing. You will ensure all care needs are met, including personal care, feeding and mobility support.
You will support a range of activities such as cooking, gardening, sensory sessions and arts and crafts. You will maintain accurate records and follow care plans. Basic literacy and IT skills are essential.
Responsibilities
Support citizens with a wide range of needs, including profound and multiple learning disabilities, sensory needs and behaviour support.
Deliver high‑quality care and help citizens engage in meaningful activities.
Communicate effectively, work closely with the Day Services team and the wider college.
Adapt to daily demands, be flexible and professional.
Qualifications
Essential
* Completion of the Care Certificate (may be completed in role).
* Completion of the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards this qualification.
Desirable
* Level 2 or equivalent in Maths and English.
Working Hours
Day Service is open 5 days a week, 50 weeks a year. Core hours are 8.30 am to 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday. Some flexibility is required.
