ROLE PUPOSE
The Global Finance Product Manager is responsible for owning and evolving the organisation’s global finance systems and related business processes. This role acts as the product owner for key finance technologies—including ERP, billing, procurement, budgeting, financial reporting, and integrations—ensuring they effectively support financial operations, compliance, and strategic growth across all institutions.
The role partners with Finance, IT, Procurement, Legal, and external vendors to define the global roadmap, deliver enhancements, optimise processes, and ensure consistent adoption and performance of finance solutions worldwide.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Product Ownership & Strategy
Define and own the global finance systems product vision, roadmap, and long-term strategy.
Translate organizational finance goals into system capabilities and improvements.
Lead prioritization of enhancements, integrations, and new features using product management frameworks.
Conduct regular product reviews to ensure systems are delivering measurable value.
2. Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as the primary liaison between Finance, Technology, and business units worldwide.
Facilitate workshops, gather requirements, and ensure user needs are embedded into product decisions.
Manage expectations with senior leadership and provide clear progress and performance updates.
3. System Governance & Process Optimisation
Maintain global standards for finance processes and system usage.
Ensure system configurations align with financial regulations, audit requirements, and internal controls.
Lead optimisation initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce manual work, and enhance data quality.
Establish KPIs for system adoption, performance, and data integrity.
4. Delivery & Project Leadership
Manage end-to-end delivery of new features, integrations, and system improvements.
Work with project managers, business analysts, and engineers to execute the roadmap.
Oversee testing, UAT, release management, and deployment cycles.
Coordinate with global teams to ensure smooth rollouts and change management.
5. Vendor & Technology Management
Work with third-party vendors and partners to ensure high-quality delivery and support.
Participate in contract reviews, SLAs, licensing models, and cost optimisation.
Evaluate new technologies, tools, and opportunities for system improvements.
Support, Training & Change Management
Provide functional leadership for finance system support teams.
Oversee training programs, user guides, and knowledge base updates.
Support global users by resolving escalations and ensuring consistent best practices across regions.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Technical & Functional
Strong understanding of finance operations (AP, AR, GL, budgeting, procurement, revenue, audit, compliance).
Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Unit4, Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, or similar).
Knowledge of integration platforms, reporting tools (Power BI), and workflow systems.
Ability to translate finance processes into system configurations and product features.
Product & Leadership
Experience in product management, product ownership, or systems ownership roles.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed global environment.
Strong communication skills—able to work with technical and non-technical audiences.
Skilled at prioritisation, backlog management, and roadmap development.
Professional Qualifications
Preferred:
Product management certification (PSPO, CSPO, AIPMM, etc.)
Finance qualification or related training (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, etc.)
Project management certifications (Prince2, PMP, Agile)
