Part -Time Teaching Assistant
13.5hrs a week, 2 days a week (Thursday and Friday)
£8,959 to £9,215 annual salary, depending on experience
Do you want to make a difference to young people's lives? If so, an exciting opportunity has risen for a strong candidate with school and eary years experience to support teaching and learning for our reception children in their first year at primary school. This will include be supporting children with SEND.
JOB OVERVIEW
We are looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual able to cope in a high-pressure environment and deal with constantly changing priorities. This person will be required to support the progress and attainment of children at our school. The role will primarily involve supporting our children in Early Years, including those with Special Educational Needs, and those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Good skills in English and Maths are paramount. Our minimum requirement is GCSE A-C in English and Mathematics or equivalent; your application will not be considered without these qualifications. Candidates must hold at a minimum a Level 2 in childcare.
The successful candidate will provide support to pupils across break and lunchtimes; this requires the ability to work with all groups of children across the school. The role includes working both in the lunch hall with children and organising games and activities on the playground. You should be first aid trained or willing to attain the qualification.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. Working with the EYFS teacher to deliver excellent teaching and learning
2. Coaching children on a 1:1 or group basis
3. Doing lunchtime and breaktime duties
4. 8.30am to 3.45pm (with 30mins unpaid lunch break) - 13.5 hrs per week, term time
5. Accompanying groups on trips
6. Supporting assessment and evidencing learning
7. Working with the teacher to create stimulating classroom displays and learning resources
8. Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all learners
9. Creating opportunities for all learners to reach their potential, irrespective of ability

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
16. GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above
17. Level 2 in Childcare
18. previous experience working in the early years school environment
19. previous experience working with children with SEND
20. a proven ability to work on their own initiative
21. a high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.
22. the ability to use relevant technology/equipment
23. a can-do attitude
24. a commitment to the happiness well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school
