Motive8 Youth C.I.C. is a non-profit organisation that supports young people from local communities by creating safe, positive, and engaging opportunities to grow and thrive. While sport is one of the tools we use, our wider aim is to help young people develop confidence, resilience, and skills for life.
We are now recruiting a Youth Engagement Worker to join our team, working with children and young people across Wolverhampton in schools, community venues, and through outreach in local neighbourhoods.
About the Role
This role is about engaging young people from diverse backgrounds, helping them to feel valued, supported, and inspired to make positive choices. You'll deliver a variety of activities — from informal education and creative projects to sport-based sessions — and create a safe environment where young people can enjoy themselves, learn, and achieve.
As part of the role, you will also provide mentoring support to young people on a one-to-one or small group basis, as well as take part in outreach work, meeting young people where they are and building relationships within their communities.
Key responsibilities include:
* Delivering youth sessions in schools, community settings, and on outreach.
* Building positive, supportive relationships with young people to encourage participation and personal growth.
* Providing mentoring to help young people with confidence, behaviour, or personal challenges.
* Using different engagement strategies (including sport, play, and creative activities) to connect with young people.
* Supporting behaviour management, conflict resolution, and creating safe, respectful spaces.
* Acting as a role model and supporting young people's wellbeing and development.

* Use creative and flexible approaches to engage and inspire participation.
* Offer mentoring and guidance to support young people's personal development.
* Manage behaviour confidently and de-escalate challenging situations.
* Communicate effectively with young people, parents, and professionals.
* Work both independently and as part of a team.
Requirements
