Overview

As part of the wider First Party Claims leadership team, the Recoveries Abandonment Analyst plays a critical role in supporting our purpose: helping our customers when they need us most – with speed, ease and understanding.

Within Recoveries, this role translates into achieving the highest possible recovery returns in the quickest possible time, contributing to an annual target of recovering approximately £50m from third‑party insurers. This role acts as the second line of defence for all abandonment decisions across First Party Claims, ensuring that decisions to abandon (in whole or in part) are technically accurate, proportionate, commercially sound, and aligned with our delegated authority from Haven. The analyst provides oversight, challenge, direction and expert guidance on decisions made by operational handlers, team leaders and our panel solicitors – and in some cases, abandonments made outside of Recoveries. The postholder will also play a pivotal role in supporting and improving AI‑driven recoveries tools, analysing AI outputs and maintaining robust feedback loops to ensure models remain accurate, compliant and commercially effective. The Analyst will own a small portfolio of up to 50 files, taking full responsibility for driving optimal recovery outcomes, and will be accountable for evaluating and monitoring abandonment activity, minimising leakage and influencing recovery performance that impacts customer experience and business profitability.
