Special Needs Teacher – Basildon
Protocol Education is proud to be working with a well-regarded special school in Basildon, supporting children and young people with a wide range of additional needs. We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Needs Teacher to join their team and help make a lasting difference.
About the role:
As a Special Needs Teacher, you will:
Plan, deliver and adapt lessons to meet the individual needs of pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including autism (ASD), moderate learning difficulties (MLD), social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), and severe and complex learning difficulties (SLD).
Create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists and other professionals to support holistic development.
Track and celebrate pupils’ progress, both academically and personally.
Inspire confidence, resilience and independence in every learner.
What we’re looking for:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) is essential.
Previous experience working with pupils who have severe and complex needs (SLD).
Strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies, including differentiated planning and alternative communication methods (PECS, Makaton, etc.).
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
