Recovery Worker - Herefordshire Recovery Service
The Herefordshire Recovery Service (West Midlands) supports individuals with alcohol or drug use, mental health issues, housing challenges, and those involved with criminal justice. We have secured additional funding to assist people sleeping rough or at risk of rough sleeping, ensuring they receive necessary care and support.
We are seeking a dedicated Recovery Worker to join our team and help us deliver our vision of creating new opportunities for vulnerable people. As a Recovery Worker, you will empower clients to make positive changes. You will work within a friendly, multidisciplinary team, supporting clients to develop recovery plans, maintain regular contact, and collaborate with clinical staff and partner agencies.
Role Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload as a 'key worker', supporting clients to achieve their goals.
* Provide advice, information, and psycho-social interventions.
* Conduct assessments and develop risk management plans.
* Engage in outreach activities, visiting clients in hostels, community hubs, or street outreach.
* Participate in our 'Out There Everywhere' mobile outreach program, offering treatment across the county.
* Work in partnership with stakeholders, including housing services.
Candidate Requirements
* Effective communication skills and the ability to manage a busy schedule.
* Experience supporting individuals in health and social care or relevant qualifications (e.g., social work, nursing).
* Understanding of substance and alcohol use, recovery challenges, and barriers such as relapse.
* Knowledge of housing and local community resources is advantageous.
* Flexibility and ability to work dynamically on a one-to-one and group basis.
* Excellent IT skills and alignment with our organizational values.
* Access to a vehicle and a valid UK driving license, as travel across the county is required.
