BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
The individual in this role will be part of a team that forms the foundation upon which our entire acquisition strategy is built. They will be passionate about delivering a best-in-class consultative service for our clients and position themselves as thought leaders to a target market of clients who will be relatively new to working with, or have had limited experience working with, public sector buyers. They will form part of a team selling SAAS Software into business within the public sector.
Hours: Monday to Friday 9-5pm (office based)
Salary: 30k - 32k plus commission
BDM Responsibilities:
1. Achieve agreed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets and KPIs
2. Competent understanding of consultative, gap selling methodology
3. Identify, qualify, engage, and acquire prospective clients based on a clear understanding of their needs
4. Contribute to revenue growth by cross-selling associated products, events, or solutions
5. Host online meetings with various stakeholders to present BI Solutions based on their desired outcomes
6. Understand and utilise CRM tools such as Salesforce to track all pertinent account information and sales progress
7. Deliver revenue in a linear manner in line with agreed targets
8. Present linear forecasting within agreed parameters via CRM, supported by anecdotal evidence, to line manager
9. Develop a thorough understanding of BIP's competitive environment, including knowledge of competing product offerings
10. Work effectively in a complex, cross-functional team environment, managing dependencies and mitigating risks
11. Maintain high attention to detail and manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
12. Exercise sound business judgment and influence internal and external stakeholders
13. Be creative, take initiative, and constructively advocate on behalf of the customer
14. Work towards weekly KPIs and monthly targets, both individually and as a team
Key Account Manager (minimum) Requirements:
1. Competent understanding of consultative, gap selling methodology
2. Proven success in exceeding sales targets with a solutions-focused approach
3. Ability to translate customer needs into business and product requirements
4. Proven influence at all organizational levels
5. Experience using CRM systems, preferably Salesforce
6. Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
7. Outstanding communication skills (verbal, written, digital)
8. Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
9. Strong negotiating skills
10. Ability to prepare and deliver business proposals effectively
11. Experience working towards targets and KPIs in competitive environments
12. Ability to collaborate with stakeholders requiring product or solution support
13. B2B or B2C experience
