Job Opportunity: Site Engineer at Sizewell C
We are seeking a Site Engineer to join our onsite team at Sizewell C, Leiston, Suffolk. The ideal candidate will have a background in Construction or Civil Engineering, with experience as a Site or Section Engineer in a Civil Highways environment.
Responsibilities include:
* Supporting the delivery of civil works such as Site Clearance, Drainage & Service Ducts, Earthworks, Pavements, Kerbs & Footways, and Street Lighting.
* Ensuring works are constructed according to contract drawings and specifications.
* Undertaking setting out, as-built surveys, and managing quality check sheets, ITPs, and onsite inspections.
Key Requirements:
Experience/Knowledge:
* Experience in Civil Engineering with knowledge of RC structures.
* Understanding of RC works, formwork, and working in a Tier 1 environment with a focus on health, safety, environment, and quality.
* Proficiency with Trimble or Leica EDMs & Laser Levels.
Skills:
* Proficient in setting out instruments and understanding reinforcement drawings and BBS.
* Computer literacy in MS Office, AutoCAD, and cloud systems.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
* Ability to lead on HSEQ matters.
Qualifications:
* Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
* CSCS certification.
* Desirable but not essential: IOSH Managing Safely, SMSTS, SSSTS, First Aider, Fire Marshall, IPAF, medical clearance.
Health, Safety & Environment:
* Adherence to Galldris health, safety, and quality standards.
* Understanding of short-term lookahead programmes.
* Reporting and addressing issues that may affect project progress.
Design & Design Assurance:
* Review design drawings and specifications to ensure accurate construction.
* Identify and raise queries regarding design issues.
Quality Management:
* Check ITPs and maintain QA records.
* Assist with NCRs, defects, and lessons learned.
Operations:
* Perform setting out duties and collation of as-built data.
