About This Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will support students with special educational needs in our schools in Plymouth and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with pupils on a one‑to‑one basis or in small groups.
* Support the teacher in delivering informative and engaging lessons.
* Support students with challenging behaviour.
* Prepare for lessons (e.g. preparing resources, putting out equipment).
* Provide additional care needs support (e.g. feeding, toileting).
* Help children complete day‑to‑day tasks around the classroom and with their learning.
* Ensure pupils are safeguarded and supported.

Requirements
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Enhanced child DBS on the update service or willingness to get one.
* Experience working with children or young people with additional care needs.
* Two recent professional references.
* Experience with challenging behaviours.
* A calm and caring personality.
* A strong and resilient personality, committed to pupil development.
* Reading, writing, numeracy and communication skills.
* Team Teach trained or willingness to attend training.
