The role
A well-established secondary school in Northumberland is seeking a Cover Supervisor to deliver pre-set lessons across KS3–KS5 in the absence of teaching staff. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced support staff looking to step into a more independent classroom role.
You will be responsible for maintaining a focused learning environment, ensuring pupils remain on task, and upholding the school’s clear behaviour policies.

Key responsibilities
* Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects
* Manage classroom behaviour effectively
* Ensure pupils complete set work to a high standard
* Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons
* Uphold school policies and safeguarding procedures
The ideal candidate
* Experience working with young people (education, coaching, youth work or similar)
* Confident leading a classroom independently
* Strong communication and behaviour management skills
* Organised, reliable and professional
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
