About the Role One of my local government clients is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to join our Payroll Team on a temporary full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a local authority payroll function, supporting the delivery of an accurate and efficient payroll service. Key Responsibilities * Process both permanent and temporary payroll data using the SAP system. * Assist in checking and reconciling payroll output reports. * Provide excellent customer service by responding to payroll-related queries via email, telephone, and face-to-face. What We’re Looking For We are seeking a proactive individual who: * Has strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Works with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. * Thrives in a team environment and is able to manage a busy workload. * Is flexible, particularly around office attendance requirements. Knowledge of PAYE legislation and other statutory payroll requirements is desirable but not essential – full training will be provided.
