Job Overview
A 29‑year‑old male living in the HU9 area of the city is looking for a confident and friendly Personal Assistant. He has a team of PA’s and is looking for a PA to cover 5hrs per week + 6 hours once a month on a weekend. There will also be additional hours to cover holidays and sickness.
Schedule
3 hrs every Thursday. Every other week he swims on a Thursday evening as part of his weekly physical therapy. He loves being in the water and it helps keep him mobile and flexible; the PA will need to be in the water with him. Non‑swimming weeks, the PA will need to take him bowling, which is his favourite activity.
2 hrs every Tuesday. He attends a day centre in Cottingham and the PA is required to accompany him home. He has a mobility vehicle which the PA can take to Cottingham to collect him in, or the PA will need to be in Cottingham at 2:15 pm to accompany him home in a taxi.
6 hours once a month on either a Saturday or Sunday to take him out and about. He loves swimming and bowling or just being outdoors; he particularly enjoys village fêtes and community events.
There will also be extra hours available to cover the holidays and sickness for the other PA’s.
Additional Notes
If you can do some of these hours but not all, please still apply.
He is a happy, go‑lucky young man with a lovely sense of humour. He has Autism, Epilepsy and Cerebral Palsy and is tube‑fed. Although he is non‑verbal he is able to gesture to the things he wants and to express his basic needs. Sensitivity and kindness are a must as there is personal care involved. Training will be provided.
A driver is essential as he has a mobility vehicle the PA will need to drive.
