Senior Manufacturing Engineer Consett Working hours: 39 hours, Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 5.00pm, Friday 8.00am to 1.00pm Salary: £45,000 to £52,000 Depending on experience Benefits: * Competitive pay * Pension * 25 Days Annual Holiday plus 8 statutory days * BUPA Healthcare * Long Service awards * *Death in Service Senior Manufacturing Engineer: Main duties/key tasks You will deliver excellent asset optimisation for manufacturing processes within your area, a key member of the team you will ensure combined integration of manufacture engineering, Health, Safety and Quality standards. * Develop and support best practices including FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis) studies, value stream mapping, SPC (Statistical Process Control) and SOP Standard Operating Procedures. * Improve processes to reduce non value added activity while ensuring safety and product quality. * Evaluate existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, cost, and quality * Streamline workflows to minimise waste and enhance process efficiency. * Production Analysis: Assess machining, workbench, and paint processes to drive improvements. * Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilise metrics and data analysis to identify inefficiencies and propose effective solutions. * Present opportunities for improvement backed with data and industry research to management * Support the development of the lean culture * Work on multiple Manufacturing Engineering Projects to improve Quality, Cost and Delivery * Work with new and existing vendors to reduce cost on tooling. * Effectively work with suppliers of engineering services at site. * In conjunction with the Section Leaders ensure engineering standards are maintained and all activities are conducted in a safe, cost effective and timely manner. * To liaise with other departments requiring advice and guidance on engineering subjects * Having a pragmatic, hands-on approach to problem solving * To support other members of the Engineer Team in their development as required * To attend meetings with the cross functional team to represent the Engineering Team Senior Manufacturing Engineer: skills & Experiences * Experience of working in a lean operating environment, and as part of a high performance team * Lean Six Sigma (LSS) certification to Green Belt standard would be advantageous – having already worked in an organization focused on continuous improvement and implementing best practices. * Must be capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications * Competence in the use of, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); and other business management systems. * Highly developed analytical skills * Effective project planning skills * Root cause problem solving and practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering Senior Manufacturing Engineer: Credentials * Minimum 5 years Manufacturing / Process Engineering Experience * Bachelor's degree or HNC and equivalent experience in a similar role for a minimum of 5 years * Experience in the Aerospace industry and understanding of AS 9100 standards would be advantageous * NEBOSH certified preferred Senior Manufacturing Engineer: Health & Safety * Comply at all times with the letter and spirit of the Company’s Health, Safety & Environmental Policy, Equality Policy and Code of Conduct. * Ensure that full co-operation is given to the Health & Safety Department in relation to risk assessments and accident reporting incidences Senior Manufacturing Engineer: General Responsibilities * Comply with all other company policies & procedures * Attend training identified by the Company to support personal development. * Work closely with the other Company Departments to deliver appropriate standards inline with company policies * Delivery a seamless interface with internal and external customers
