We invite applications for two temporary Receptionist positions to provide maternity leave cover.
The roles are offered with the following working patterns:
* Position One: 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 08:00 to 13:00.
* Position Two: 22.75 hours per week, scheduled across a two-week rota comprising a combination of full days, morning and afternoon shifts.
Please note that flexibility is essential for both positions, as there may be occasions when additional shifts are required at short notice.
Main duties of the job
Duties may be varied from timeto time under the direction of the Lead Receptionist/Practice Manager, dependent on currentand evolving practice workload and staffing levels:
* Opening up/locking-up of Practice premises and maintaining security in accordancewith Practice protocols
* Maintaining and monitoring the Practice appointments system
* Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephoneconsultations and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate Healthcare Professional
* Using digital tools to manage and process patient requests
* Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) email
* Taking messages and passing on information
* Filing and retrieving paperwork
* Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with Practice guidelines
* Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recordinginformation in accordance with Practice procedures
* Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team members and associated Healthcare Agencies and providers
* Providing clerical assistance to Practice staff as required from time to time, includingword/data processing, filing, photocopying and scanning
* Dealing with clinical waste
* Keeping the Reception area, notice-boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free fromobstructions and clutter

Northumberland Heath Medical Centre is a GP Practice offering Primary CareServices within Erith and the surrounding area.
We are a friendly and supportive Practice Team.
Our Clinical Team currently comprises two Partners, eight SalariedGPs, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, three Pharmacists, three Nurses and a Health CareAssistant. The Clinical Team is supported by three Managers and a largeadministrative team.
