Job Description:
As an Accounts Assistant/Accounts Payable, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our finance department. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting tasks, including payroll processing, pension auto-enrolment, and bank reconciliation.
Key Responsibilities
* Payroll and Pension Management: Process staff payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
* Manage auto-enrolments and pension contributions, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
* Calculate SSP (Statutory Sick Pay), SMP (Statutory Maternity Pay), and other related payments
* Accounting Software: Maintain accurate financial records using Sage 50 and QuickBooks.
* Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable.
* Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records.
* Invoicing and Payments: Process invoices and ensure timely payments to vendors.
* Handle queries related to accounts payable and receivable
* Reporting and Analysis: Assist in preparing financial reports and maintaining budgets.
* Support in preparing monthly and annual financial statements
* Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Key Requirements
* Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or in a similar role.
* Strong knowledge of auto-enrolments, pension management, and payroll processes.
* Proficiency in Sage 50, QuickBooks, and other accounting software.
* Excellent understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation.
* Ability to calculate and process SSP, SMP, and other statutory payments accurately.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills.
* High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Qualifications:
* A degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
* AAT qualification (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
