Key Responsibilities
* Establish and lead a delivery team focused on large appliances and bulky goods.
* Develop partnerships with local appliance manufacturers, retailers, and third-party logistics providers.
* Design and optimize delivery routes to ensure on-time and cost-effective deliveries.
* Manage logistics operations including warehousing, transportation, and last-mile delivery.
* Hire, train, and supervise drivers, delivery staff, and support teams.
* Monitor and control budgets, operational costs, and KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
* Ensure compliance with UK transport, health & safety, and environmental regulations.
* Oversee fleet management, maintenance schedules, and resource planning.
* Lead initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and reduce delivery failures or damages.
Requirements
* Proven experience in logistics or delivery operations in the UK, preferably in white goods or large item sectors.
* Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building high-performing teams.
* Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transport Management Systems (TMS).
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
* Knowledge of UK transport regulations and health & safety standards.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with strong problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
* Prior experience working for major UK appliance retailers or delivery companies (e.g., Currys, AO, John Lewis).
* Professional certifications in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Transport Management are a plus.
