English Lecturer
Location: Further Education College, Romford
Job Type: Temporary (likely until end of academic year)
Hours: 36 hours per week
Pay: £28 per hour (PAYE) or £35 per hour (Self-Employed)
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced English Lecturer to join a fast-paced Further Education college environment. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality English teaching to students aged 16–18, supporting them in achieving their GCSE qualifications, including those undertaking re-sits.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging English lessons to 16–18 learners
* Support students preparing for GCSE exams and re-sits
* Differentiate teaching to meet a range of learning abilities
* Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
* Motivate and encourage students to achieve their full potential
* Contribute to a positive and productive learning environment
Essential Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (PGCE, QTS, or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training)
* Experience teaching GCSE English to 16–18 students
* Proven ability to plan and deliver lessons to learners of varying abilities
* Experience supporting students through GCSE re-sits
* Background working in a fast-paced Further Education (FE) college
* Strong ability to motivate and engage students
