GIS Analyst – Use Spatial Data to Accelerate Net Zero
Bristol (Hybrid / 3 days in office)
Bohr (Digital Services)
£35K- £45k (open for the right person)
At Bohr, our mission is simple but ambitious: Decarbonise energy through innovation.
Through our methane emissions division Tectrac, we build advanced mobile leak detection technology and geospatial intelligence that help gas networks find and fix methane leaks faster.
Why does that matter?
Because over 70% of the UK’s oil & gas methane emissions come from the ageing gas networks beneath our feet.
Methane is one of the most powerful greenhouse gases. Reducing it is one of the fastest ways to slow global warming.
This is your chance to use GIS to reshape how one of the world’s oldest infrastructures transitions to a low‑carbon future.
The Role:
We’re looking for a GIS Analyst who cares about impact as much as data quality. You’ll own how geospatial intelligence powers our work from survey planning and emissions mapping to dashboards, automation, and product capabilities. Your work will directly support the UK and Europe in hitting net‑zero targets.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Build and validate survey datasets using QGIS / ArcGIS
* Support routing and planning for mobile methane detection surveys
* Create spatial dashboards and emissions layers used across customer projects
* Integrate GIS data into cloud and product platforms
* Automate workflows with Python, FME, or similar tools
* Maintain a centralised GIS repository
* Provide GIS insight that shapes customer reporting and product strategy
* Upskill colleagues in core GIS tools
What will you help us achieve?
* GIS workflows automated and integrated into survey + emissions analytics
* Spatial data powering near real‑time reporting across the UK & Europe
* A trusted, scalable GIS repository
* GIS embedded as a core capability in Bohr’s digital products
What we need from you:
You’re curious, accurate, collaborative and motivated by using GIS to solve real‑world environmental challenges.
You’re experiences & skills will likely include:
* 3+ years’ GIS experience
* Confidence with spatial data formats (SHP, GeoJSON, KML, GDB, etc.)
* Excellent map‑based reporting skills
* Clarity in explaining technical concepts to non‑technical teams
Bonus: Python/FME automation, APIs, utilities/energy exposure, survey planning experience.
Why Join Us?
* Be part of a mission that truly matters: cutting methane emissions at scale
* Shape GIS capability from the ground up
* Work with innovative deep tech used by major infrastructure operators
* Hybrid working, autonomy and growth opportunities
If you want to use geospatial data to accelerate the energy transition, we’d love to hear from you. Please apply or reach out to our recruitment partners at ISL Talent. Henry or Jake will be happy to offer more details and insight.
Bohr is committed to building a diverse, inclusive workplace. We welcome candidates of all genders, backgrounds, and experiences, and we encourage you to apply even if your skills don’t perfectly match every requirement.
At this time we are unable to sponsor work visas, so we are only able to consider candidate with a right to work in the UK.
Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Bohr Limited by 2x.
