Role Description
This is an associate on‑site/hybrid role for a Couples Counsellor based in Chester. The Couples Counsellor will deliver high‑quality relational and structured counselling to couples experiencing communication difficulties, interpersonal conflict, attachment‑related distress, parenting stress, and relational breakdown. The role contributes to the wider emotional wellbeing pathway for families and adults accessing the service.
Responsibilities include:
* Provide couples counselling sessions online and in‑person (6–10 sessions typical).
* Complete clinical assessments, formulate presenting issues and plan interventions.
* Work with relational patterns, communication dynamics, attachment processes and conflict cycles.
* Maintain accurate clinical notes, outcome measures and case records.
* Manage risk and escalate safeguarding concerns in line with policy.
* Collaborate with the Managing Director and contribute to service development.
* Attend regular supervision.
* Engage in CPD to maintain and develop skills.
Qualifications
* Level 4 diploma or above in relationship counselling
* At least 2 years post‑qualification experience
* Systemic practitioner qualifications are desirable
