Activ8 is looking for a Play Leader to join our wraparound care team at Southfield Primary School. You'll help deliver a fun and safe after-school experience for children aged 4-11, supporting their play, friendships, and wellbeing.
About the Role
As a Play Leader, you'll:
* Create a welcoming and stimulating play environment
* Lead games, creative activities, and themed sessions for all age groups
* Help safeguard and support children's wellbeing
* Work closely with the Settings Manager, school staff, and families
* Promote positive behaviour and ensure safety at all times
This is a term-time only, part-time role – ideal for someone looking for consistent afternoon work that fits around other daytime commitments.
What We're Looking For
* Experience working with children, ideally in a school, nursery, or sports setting
* A fun, kind, and confident personality
* Strong communication skills with both children and adults
* A relevant Level 2 qualification in childcare or sport (preferred)
* Good safeguarding knowledge (Level 1 or above)
* Reliability, energy, and the ability to lead small groups effectively

The Process
Stage 1: Telephone interview
Stage 2: Trial session in a current setting
Stage 3: Follow up interview following trial session
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to complete a telephone interview between 23/2 and 6/3, successful candidates will then be invited to a stage 2 session WC 9/3.
