The role as a Maintenance Engineer
Due to increased orders, this aerospace manufacturing business in Leicester is on the lookout for a weekend maintenance engineer to enhance the current team. You will be responsible for both proactive and reactive maintenance of a wide variety of CNC machines, tooling and robot cells, no two days are the same.
Responsibilities
* Respond to machine breakdowns and facility issues with professionalism and urgency.
* Develop and support preventative maintenance schedules.
* Work on continuous improvement projects.
* Contribute to safety initiatives and facility improvement projects.
* Work both independently and collaboratively in a shift-based team.
* Liaise with contractors while ensuring compliance with site policies.
Skills and Qualifications
* Apprentice trained or a minimum of a level 3 Engineering Qualification.
* Strong maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience with CNC machinery (Siemens, Heidenhain, Fanuc).
* Knowledge of drives, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
* Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
* Desirable: 18th Edition wiring regulations.
* Desirable: Mechanical skills (e.g., spindle rebuilds, bearing replacements).
