H&S Advisor / Site Inspector - Highways & Infrastructure
H&S Advisor / Site Inspector is required to maintain and enhance the safety culture in a well-established highways and infrastructure contractor achieving zero RIDDOR incidents and zero LTIs over the past three years. You will be instrumental in ensuring these standards are upheld and continuously improved as the company grows.
The role involves working closely with delivery teams on live sites, far beyond monitoring compliance: you will actively improve working environments, influence behaviours, and recognise high standards across highways and construction operations.
Responsibilities
* Carrying out site inspections across highways and construction projects
* Supporting teams to improve safety performance and working conditions
* Leading investigations, producing reports, and identifying root causes
* Challenging unsafe behaviours and influencing positive change on site
* Ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental standards
* Working collaboratively with operational teams to embed best practice
Qualifications
* NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)
* Experience within highways, construction, or civil engineering environments
* Strong communication skills with the confidence to challenge and influence
* A practical, solutions-focused approach to risk management
* Experience in inspections, reporting, and incident investigations
* A full UK driving licence
