Position
26.5 hours per week, £32,412 per annum (FTE £48,925) working 8 am to 5 pm.
Work schedule: Week 1 – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday; Week 2 – Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
Responsibilities
* Lead clinical care for custodial patients within court settings, taking full responsibility for their health, safety and welfare.
* Diagnose, identify appropriate interventions, maintain accurate records, and provide clinical advice and guidance in the court setting.
* Adhere to and implement CQC and local policies, HCPC Code of Professional Conduct, and local procedures.
* Apply critical analysis to complex information during care, providing accurate advice, health information, and medication to patients.
* Accurately record and document consultation notes in a timely fashion.
* Support clinical decision‑making by identifying and using appropriate information sources.
* Provide health education during consultations, referencing suitable healthcare providers as necessary.
* Refer to Service Delivery Manager, peers or colleagues for advice while maintaining accountability and responsibility for clinical decisions.
* Remain focused on service delivery while managing an unpredictable, diverse and challenging workload.
* Maintain a working knowledge of standard procedures and upscale issues affecting service delivery as required.
Requirements
* Current HCPC registration as a paramedic with no investigations, suspensions, or pending disciplinary actions.
* Experience of clinical autonomy and continuous professional development.
* Minimum of 3 years post‑qualification as a paramedic.
* Experience within a prison secure establishment is an advantage.
* Basic IT skills, fluent English, full driving licence, and own transport.
* Professional appearance and conduct, strong team collaboration, ability to work independently when necessary.
* Ability to recognise deteriorating patients, communicate clearly, influence clinical situations, record information accurately, make rapid informed decisions, and remain calm in an intense environment.
