Job Summary
Cardinal Medical Practice invites applications for the position of Practice Nurse. The role is based in Ipswich and offers a supportive, training‑focused environment for both newly qualified nurses and experienced professionals. The closing date for applications is 30 June 2026.
Responsibilities
* Provide nursing services to the practice population, including screening, assessment, advice and treatment within professional competence.
* Carry out general nursing duties: Immunisations (adult, childhood, baby); cervical smears; contraception advice and pill checks; dressings and treatment room care.
* Support management of chronic disease and long‑term conditions as required.
* Work to practice protocols and guidelines.
* Deliver general & specific nursing care in a primary care setting.
* Conduct health assessments and screening of patients within agreed protocols.
* Maintain accurate and efficient record keeping.
* Assist in developing work policies and protocols to meet standards of care.
* Provide nursing treatments and advice for minor ailments.
* Promote health to the practice population.
Person Specification
Essential
* Current UK professional registration.
* Participation in annual performance reviews and maintenance of personal development records.
* Commitment to monthly training sessions and continued professional improvement.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
