Overview
We are looking for a Licensing Administrator to join the busy, established Taxi Licensing team. The team ensures that licensed vehicles and drivers operate at a safe standard for the public.
About The Role
Licensing Administrators provide a professional front‑line service, supporting customers and ensuring applications are processed accurately and efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:
* Act as the first point of contact for customer enquiries and complaints by telephone, email and face‑to‑face, clarifying decisions and explaining subsequent steps.
* Ensure licence applications are processed in accordance with service performance standards and statutory requirements; collate, check and enter data accurately into computer systems.
* Administer applications, ensuring correct documentation is provided and process steps are followed before issuing licences.
* Prepare and send routine licensing correspondence, including production of licence documentation, physical badges and plates.
* Manage all correspondence to the service and carry out other administrative tasks related to licensing.
* Conduct face‑to‑face appointments, including identity verification appointments.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
* Have experience in a customer‑facing administrative role.
* Be able to build and maintain positive relationships with customers in a busy environment.
* Be a clear and patient communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to explain requirements straightforwardly.
* Be highly inquisitive, eager to learn about taxi licensing, and apply guidance consistently.
* Have excellent attention to detail, planning, time‑management and organisational skills to manage a complex workload.
