Quantity Surveyor - York, North Yorkshire - Regional Main Contractor

Our clients have been going for 30 years and are market leaders within build, refurbishment and heritage restoration. The role of Quantity Surveyor:
As Quantity Surveyor you will play a key role within the commercial team to ensure projects are completed on time and to budget. You will be working on a range of new build, refurbishment and heritage restoration projects ranging from £250k - £10m typically across residential, commercial, education, healthcare, heritage (Grade II listed) and hospitality sectors.
Responsibilities of a Quantity Surveyor:
* Maintain contract documentation and advise on pre-tender and post contract matters
* Preparation and issue of contractual letters to clients and / or sub-contractors, where necessary
* Post contract liaison with clients and / or design team
* Sub-contract negotiation and timely letting of sub-contractors, including co-ordination of subcontractors
* Preparation and submission of interim valuations
* Manage and value variations both from sub-contractors and to GEM clients / contract administrators
* Agreement and certification of sub-contractor's interim valuations and final accounts
* Agreement of final accounts with clients / contract administrators
* To attend meetings and site visits
* Assist in the completion and submission of PQQs
* Prepare and issue sub-contract enquiries and assessment of quotations upon receipt
* Complete tender documents for submission
* Assist in producing commercial reports, cost reports, monthly reports etc.
* Provide initial cashflow schedule for each project responsible
Requirements for a Quantity Surveyor:
* Relevant construction related degree / qualifications.
* Ability to work as part of a close-knit management team and manage numerous activities / projects simultaneously - both short and long term.
* Ability to work on own initiative and with the minimum of supervision..
* Working knowledge of standard forms of measurement and contracts.
* IT skills - particularly Microsoft Programs.
* Excellent communication skills.
