Transport Planner / Transport Operator - Carrington, Manchester
Temp to Perm role – Circa £30k-31k p/annum
Working for a leading service provider within the UK warehouse and distribution sector, specialising in the movement and storage of fresh, ambient, and chilled goods.
This is a great opportunity for someone with transport office and vehicle planning experience who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment.

You’ll ideally come from a FMCG or general haulage background, with hands-on experience in a transport office. You’ll be organised, proactive, and confident communicating with drivers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
Plan daily deliveries in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner
Effectively utilise drivers, vehicles, and subcontractors
Communicate job details clearly to drivers and subcontractors
Brief drivers before departure and de-brief upon return, ensuring all documentation is complete
Monitor driver status, delays, and issues, maintaining clear communication with customer services
Ensure tachograph data, driving licence, and ID checks are completed in line with compliance requirements
Allocate work in line with Operating Licence legislation
Ensure vehicle and trailer servicing is completed on time and remains compliant
Handle customer enquiries professionally and efficiently
Maintain strong communication with internal departments and customers
Provide support, guidance, and holiday/sickness cover for fellow planners/operators
Ensure a thorough handover for incoming shifts
Support the Senior Management team with additional tasks when required🎯 What We Offer
