Role Overview
As a mid-level Technical Cyber Security Analyst, you will play a critical role in protecting our systems and networks from cyber threats. With a minimum of 3 years of experience in cyber security and fluency in both English and French, you will conduct threat assessments, respond to incidents, and communicate findings to diverse, multilingual teams. This is a fully remote role based in the UK, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work with cutting-edge security technologies.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform threat and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks across systems and networks.
· Monitor network traffic using SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, ArcSight) to detect and respond to anomalies and cyber threats in real-time.
· Conduct root cause analysis of security incidents and implement remediation strategies.
· Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and tools to ensure compliance with standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, or Cyber Essentials.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security posture, including cloud and application security.
· Communicate technical findings, recommendations, and reports in both English and French to internal teams and external stakeholders, including French-speaking clients or partners.
· Stay abreast of emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices, sharing insights with the team.
· Participate in incident response exercises and contribute to the development of disaster recovery plans.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
· Experience:
o Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in cyber security, with a focus on technical roles such as threat analysis, incident response, or vulnerability management.
· Technical Expertise:
o Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
o Proficiency with SIEM tools (e.g., Threat Defence, Splunk, ArcSight), vulnerability scanners (e.g., Tenable/Nessus, Qualys), and firewalls.
o Knowledge of cyber security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework.
o Experience with penetration testing, log analysis, or threat intelligence tools.
· Language Skills:
o Fluency in English and French (written and spoken), with the ability to produce technical reports, deliver presentations, and communicate effectively with French-speaking stakeholders.
· Certifications:
o Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or Microsoft Security Certifications (SC-200, SC-300) are highly desirable.
· Soft Skills:
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex security challenges.
o Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences in both English and French.
o Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate with distributed teams.
o Adaptability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Desirable Skills
· Experience in cloud security (e.g., AWS, Azure) or secure coding practices.
· Familiarity with GDPR or other data protection regulations.
· Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation of security tasks.
