Job Purpose
This is a key position, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across several site locations.
You will be the first line in all maintenance throughout your allocated sites.
The purpose of this role is to carry out technical repairs and PPMs. You will ensure that all technical and compliance paperwork is always completed and up to date.
All work will be completed to the highest standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the laid-down Company Health and Safety policy.
Key Accountabilities
Safety
* Comply with health & safety legislation and Company processes.
* Complete specified reports and compliance documentation and take action on any issues raised.
People
* Compliance with all of City policies and procedures.
* Attend training courses as necessary and ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments.
Service
* Complete the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timescales and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and according to procedures.
* Respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk, assessing requirements and carrying out repairs as necessary.
* Prioritise maintenance and repair work to meet timescales and response times.
* Order spares following laid-down procedures.
* Identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the HVAC supervisor with recommendations for replacements.
* Carry out surveys and complete reports as required by City management.
* Perform minor alterations and installations within your technical competence and current specifications.
Others
* Carry out any reasonable management requests.
* Participate in on-call rota (1:4) to provide 24/7 cover.
Financial Responsibilities
Responsibility for parts ordering, following correct triage processes to reduce unnecessary spend.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Educated to GCSE/Standard Grade level minimum, ideally SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Heating/Ventilation/Mechanical field.
* ACS Commercial Gas Qualifications (COCN, CIGA, CORT, ICPN, CDGA, TPCP1/1A) minimum.
* ACS Domestic Gas Qualifications (CCN, CENWAT, CPA) minimum.
* City and Guilds 2079-1 FGas Category 1.
* City and Guilds 7671 18th Edition.
* Ability to service, maintain, repair, and install a range of mechanical and electrical HVAC plant and equipment.
* Knowledge of maintenance services within the FM industry, with experience in multi-client contracted environments, PPM, and compliance background.
* Experience developing client relationships is advantageous.
* Strong PC literacy, with experience in data extraction, collation, presentation, and understanding of CAFM systems.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Strong planning, organisation, prioritisation, and project management skills.
* Results-focused, accountable for own and team performance.
* Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Highly flexible and proactive, capable of handling challenges with a flexible approach.
