Fostering | Commutable from London | Flexible working encouraged | Supportive Management Leaders in Care is proud to be partnering with a council based on the East Coast of England, currently looking to appoint an experienced Fostering & Kinship Social Worker to support their team on a locum basis. This role offers excellent flexibility, working 2–3 days per week, with a competitive rate of £38 per hour. The job is commutable from London, with regular train services making it feasible for those based in the city. Depending on the exact location, travel times typically range from 30 minutes to just over an hour, allowing you to maintain London living while working elsewhere Key Responsibilities: Undertake and complete Form F Assessments of prospective foster and kinship carers Work closely with families to assess suitability, provide support, and guide them through the assessment process Prepare detailed, evidence-based reports for fostering panels Ensure all assessments comply with statutory requirements and fostering regulations Liaise with professionals across services to support the safeguarding and welfare of childrenAbout You: Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration Demonstrable experience in completing Form F Assessments Strong working knowledge of fostering legislation, kinship care, and best practice standards Excellent communication, assessment, and report writing skills Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines and quality expectationsWhat’s on Offer: Excellent £38 p/h pay rate Flexible working pattern – 2 to 3 days per week Supportive, child-focused team and management Ongoing contract with the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to children’s livesIn Summary, if you are an experienced Fostering Social Worker please do get in touch to hear more.
