Refrigeration Engineer
Locations: St Albans / Letchworth / Aylesbury
Salary: £46,791.53 (including on‑call standby 1:4)

My client is looking for an experienced refrigeration engineer to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a leading supermarket contract.
The role involves carrying out planned and reactive refrigeration maintenance across several retail stores, maintaining and repairing a range of refrigeration equipment. You will also conduct regular store visits to perform reactive work, PPMs, and minor repairs requested by the customer.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out PPM and reactive refrigeration maintenance across multiple sites.
* Service and repair a range of CO₂ refrigeration pack equipment.
* Identify non‑repairable faults in plant and machinery, advise the Refrigeration Manager promptly, and recommend suitable replacements.
* Carry out minor alterations and installations within technical competence, in accordance with current specifications.
Qualifications & Experience
* SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Refrigeration or equivalent qualification.
* City & Guilds 2079‑1 FGas Category 1.
* Experience with supermarket refrigeration systems.
* Flexible to participate in a 24/7 on‑call rota every 1 : 4 weeks.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Experience using a PDA system.
* Ability to read technical drawings.
* Experience with PPM and reactive maintenance in a similar retail environment.
