A Day in the Life
You will be a Senior Software Engineer with an entrepreneurial flair. You will be a versatile professional, comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously, supporting everything from advanced blue-sky research to developing top-tier patient vital signs monitoring products. You should be proficient in various programming languages and tools, spanning embedded systems to web applications.
We are an Artificial Intelligence and Algorithm development team based in Edinburgh. We focus on advanced sensor research and enhancing algorithms for mature products. Our small, world-class team supports the Acute Care and Monitoring (ACM) Operating Unit (OU), mainly based in Boulder, Colorado.

Responsibilities may include:
1. Designing, developing, and debugging software tools for algorithm development, training, analysis, and clinical decision-making.
2. Supporting clinical trials of key products through software development.
3. Providing architectural guidance to outsourced sensor and tool development projects.
4. Leading other OU projects related to sensors and applications.
5. Contributing to the design and maintenance of a data lake supporting sensor algorithms.
6. Collaborating with other software teams within the OU.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer/Software, Biomedical Engineering or similar, with 7+ years of relevant experience.
* Proficiency in over 50% of the following: C/C++, C#/.NET, Python/Matlab, Qt, SQL, Linux.
* Experience in documentation, test planning, and software validation.
* Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and work in cross-functional teams.
* Experience with Agile methodologies and version control systems like Git or SVN.
Additional advantages include embedded development in Linux, RTOS, or bare-metal environments, knowledge of signal processing, experience with medical devices or sensors, familiarity with machine learning, AI, computer vision, healthcare standards (like HIPAA), database management, and cybersecurity best practices.
