Here at P&O Ferries we are seeking a Social Media & Content Manager to join our team based in Woking on a permanent basis. This is an opportunity to work closely with the Senior Brand & Content Manager, leading the day-to-day planning, execution and optimisation of organic social, influencer and content activity across all social channels. The role ensures content is consumer-first, channel-first and insight-led, supporting brand and commercial priorities while delivering measurable results. The successful candidate will have a proven record in managing organic social channels, delivering high-performing content, and leading influencer activity. The role is based in our Woking office, with hybrid working available. Regular travel across our routes is essential to capture content and support delivery. Key responsibilities and duties: Lead the organic social and content approach across all owned channels, ensuring alignment with brand, digital and commercial priorities Own and manage the day-to-day content calendar, aligning campaigns, seasonality, trading priorities, influencer activity and onboard content Deliver briefing, production, approval and optimisation of all social and influencer content, ensuring it is channel-specific and on-brand Manage and deliver the influencer strategy, aligned to campaigns, audience objectives and seasonal priorities Lead social boosting activity, ensuring effective budget allocation, performance tracking and ROI Identify, brief and manage influencers and creators, ensuring strong brand fit and quality output Provide clear direction and planning support to the Social Media & Content Executive Brief and manage creative agencies, videographers, designers and third-party production partners Ensure onboard screen and POS content is accurate, refreshed and aligned with wider campaign Act as the social and content expert and key point of contact across the business Monitor social trends, competitor activity and platform developments to drive innovation Lead performance reporting across organic social, influencer and boosted activity, using insight to optimise future plans Travel regularly across all routes (approximately 3–4 paid trips per month) to capture and deliver content The ideal candidate will: Have 3–5 years’ experience in social media roles within a consumer-facing brand or agency environment Demonstrate strong experience managing organic social channels at scale Have proven experience planning and delivering influencer campaigns, including budget management Be confident briefing and managing creative agencies, creators and suppliers Have experience line-managing or mentoring junior team members Possess strong social copywriting and storytelling skills Be comfortable using social scheduling and reporting tools (e.g. Sprout Social) Show a strong understanding of social platforms, formats and audience-first content Be willing to travel across the UK and Europe Desirable: Experience within travel, tourism, lifestyle or experience-led brands Experience managing social boosting budgets and performance reporting Location: Woking – this role operates Monday to Friday, with hybrid working available 1-2 days per week.
