Overview
Propane Specialist at Kamps Propane is responsible for the safe and timely tank setup and/or delivery of propane products to customers. The role includes installing/repairing tanks, delivering, loading and unloading propane into bulk trucks and end-use containers, while delivering exceptional customer service. The Propane Specialist upholds the highest safety standards in the delivery and handling of propane and conducts regular vehicle inspections and maintenance.
What You’ll Do
* Transfer, collect, load, and deliver propane products to and from containers (bulk truck, tanks, and/or cylinders) for customers. Initiate and conduct asset verification. Collect customer signatures/stamps and payments for deposits if necessary. Offer customer brochures with basic price lists and a contact number. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
* Leverage technology to monitor and track propane inventory, tank levels, and container sizing; accurately record and print delivery tickets; complete and submit daily driver reports where required.
* Maintain equipment to high safety standards; report mechanical issues to the Fleet Manager/Dispatcher. Conduct pre- and post-vehicle inspections, site inspections, and visual tank inspections as applicable.
* Collaborate with the Dispatcher for routing and scheduling; notify immediately of any product, customer, routing, scheduling, or safety issues and seek guidance as needed.
* Provide propane tank installations in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all state/local codes and safety policies. Identify and correct leaks from the tank-to-equipment connection. Respond to customer emergencies as needed. Complete tank inspections and repairs at customer locations. Perform tank maintenance on spare tanks in preparation for installation.
* Perform other job duties as assigned.
What You Bring
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Minimum of one (1) year job-related propane experience preferred
* CDL Class A or B
* Tanker & Hazmat Endorsement preferred
* Clean driving record
* Up-to-date DOT medical certification
* Ability to rotate on-call status during evenings and weekends as needed
* Legal Authorization to work in the US; note that visa sponsorship is not offered for this role
