Sinewave was founded in 2015 with a clear mission from the very start – everything that we do will always be a power for good. Since then we have gone from a living room start‑up to a leading force within the energy transformation sector. Not bad, eh!

We are on a mission to help power the future more sustainably. We’re the only B‑Corp Certified ICP in the world.

We’re part of powering the UK’s energy transition with innovative high‑and low‑voltage electrical solutions up to 400kV. From EV charging to renewables and commercial projects we design, deliver and maintain networks with sustainability and efficiency at heart. Join us to drive change and make an impact!

This role

We are looking for a Major Projects Construction Manager to come and join our growing team.

The Major Projects Construction Manager is responsible for leading the delivery of high‑voltage infrastructure projects (33kV–132kV), ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality execution across all phases of construction. This role involves oversight of the project management team, subcontractors, and site operations, with a strong focus on programme management, commercial performance, and technical delivery.

Working closely with the wider Major Projects leadership team, this role will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. The Construction Manager will also play a key role in aligning site activities with client expectations, stakeholder requirements, and regulatory compliance.

As a senior figure within the delivery function, the Major Projects Construction Manager will contribute to operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives, while acting as a visible leader on site and a key point of contact for project stakeholders including clients, DNOs, landowners, and delivery partners.

An idea of what you’ll be doing

* Lead, motivate, and develop a team of Project Managers and site managers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance. Ensure effective resource planning and performance management across multiple concurrent projects.
* Oversee the successful delivery of multiple high‑voltage projects (33kV–132kV), from pre‑construction handover through to completion and financial handover.
* Ensure projects meet programme, cost, quality, and safety objectives.
* Support the strategic development of the Major Projects division by identifying opportunities for operational improvements, innovation, and scalable delivery models.
* Promote and enforce a strong health, safety, and environmental culture across all construction activities. Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, BS7671, ENA standards, and company SHEQ procedures. Conduct regular site inspections and lead safety briefings.
* Uphold high standards of workmanship and ensure quality control procedures are followed throughout construction. Drive defect‑free delivery and compliance with technical specifications and statutory regulations.
* Act as first step of escalation contact for delivery to clients, DNOs, National Grid, landowners, and other key stakeholders. Maintain strong relationships and ensure transparent communication across the lifecycle of each project.
* Manage construction‑related costs, budgets, and forecasts. Identify and mitigate commercial risks and support the resolution of contractual matters including variations, early warnings, and compensation events in collaboration with the commercial team.
* Monitor project progress against agreed programmes, ensuring timely execution of key activities and milestones. Address potential delays through effective planning and proactive issue resolution.
* Identify, assess, and manage operational risks across all construction projects. Implement mitigation and contingency plans to maintain control over project delivery.
* Provide on‑site leadership and technical support in areas such as high‑voltage cable laying, substation build, civil and structural interfaces, and commissioning support. Resolve site‑level technical queries efficiently.
* Deliver regular project updates to internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership. Prepare performance dashboards and escalated critical issues with clear recommendations.
* Support continuous improvement by refining construction processes, enhancing team capability, and embedding lessons learned across projects.
* When you join, you will go through our top‑notch induction and onboarding process and have opportunities to develop further through our in‑house training academy.
