Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Decontamination Services Technician to support clinical activity and excellence in patient safety by providing a controlled Decontamination Service for reusable medical devices at the hospital. This position is permanent and part time.

You will be expected to contribute to and support the department’s best practices and continuous improvements.
As our DS Technician, you’ll plan and prioritize your workload considering the DS Team and patient needs, working in accordance with the department’s Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management System.
You will play a vital role in reprocessing reusable surgical instruments and operating decontamination equipment safely, carrying out routine daily tests as set out in the DS Planned Preventative Maintenance and periodic testing schedule.
Using the electronic and tradability system, you will accurately record information and report breakdowns and resource issues promptly.
Skills and experience required
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
* NVQ Level 3/Technical Certificate in Decontamination or equivalent, or knowledge and experience through decontamination training or willingness to undertake
* Good IT skills
* Ability to work in a timely manner while achieving high accuracy
* Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing workplace needs
