Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is crucial in delivering personalised care tailored to each individual's needs, whether in a home care setting or assisted living facility.
Responsibilities
* Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects.
* Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being.
* Assist with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring safety during outings.
* Support clients with dementia care by employing appropriate communication techniques and activities that stimulate cognitive function.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, including light housekeeping duties as needed.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care, including hospice care when necessary.
* Document client progress and report any changes in health status to the appropriate personnel.
Skills
* Proven experience in patient care or senior care is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of first aid practices and emergency response procedures.
* Ability to prepare meals that meet nutritional guidelines and individual preferences.
* Familiarity with medication administration protocols and assisted living regulations.
* Compassionate approach towards caregiving, particularly for individuals with dementia or chronic illnesses.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
* Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude are essential traits for success in this role.
