Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Accounts and Audit Senior to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading audit assignments from planning through to completion, preparing financial statements for a wide range of clients, and supervising junior staff. You will work with clients across various sectors, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and providing a high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
7. Lead statutory audit assignments from planning to finalization, including fieldwork and preparing audit files for review.
8. Prepare year-end accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders in accordance with UK GAAP or IFRS.
9. Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and maintain strong professional relationships.
10. Manage and mentor junior members of staff, reviewing their work and providing feedback and training as needed.
11. Ensure audit work is carried out in accordance with firm and professional standards.
12. Identify risk areas and communicate key findings to managers and partners.
13. Monitor job progress against budgets and report variances.
14. Assist with ad hoc advisory and consultancy work as required.
Requirements:
15. ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent (or finalist with significant experience).
16. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice.
17. Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting and auditing standards.
18. Proven ability to lead audits and manage client relationships.
19. Excellent communication, organisational, and time-management skills.
20. Competent user of accounting and audit software (e.g., CaseWare, IRIS, Sage, QuickBooks, Xero).
21. Attention to detail with a methodical and proactive approach.
Desirable:
22. Experience with group audits and consolidations.
23. Knowledge of corporate tax and VAT.
24. Exposure to a wide variety of industry sectors.
