Location: Crick, Northampton, England, United Kingdom
Position: Shift Engineer (Electrical / Mechanical bias)
Type: Permanent, Site-based
Compensation: £24.77 per hour + £0.85 shift allowance (£25.62) for 42 hours per week, 4 on 4 off shift pattern (12-hour days and nights). Overtime paid monthly.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform planned and predictive maintenance of equipment and complete ad hoc repairs in a timely manner, prioritising work in line with site priorities to maintain efficient production.
* Assess the need for spares, ensure critical spares list is up to date and stock levels are maintained.
* Escalate any issues promptly to the Engineering Manager.
* Ensure a safe environment by conducting all servicing and maintenance activities with minimal risk to employees, products and equipment; champion safety.
* Use root cause analysis on breakdowns to identify actions and drive completion to prevent re-occurrence.
* Support the energy reduction and sustainability agenda to reduce environmental impacts across the site; ensure all actions are completed.
* Participate in daily and weekly review sessions to drive improvement throughout the site.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
* Qualified or time served in Electrical and/or Mechanical engineering disciplines.
* Experience using and operating CMMS.
* Reliability management expertise (e.g., FMECA, RCM, Tribology, CBM, TPM).
* Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* NEBOSH with a sound knowledge of behavioural safety at a site level – desirable.
* Legionella and HACCP awareness – desirable.
* Experience in FMCG – desirable.
