We’re transforming how families, children, and young people (0–19 and up to 25 for those with SEND) access help—making it simpler, more joined-up, and rooted in their communities. Through our evolving Devon Family Hubs, we’re bringing together the Best Start for Children and Neighbourhood Health Services and within the Families First Programme, to deliver integrated support that focuses on prevention and Early Help ensuring families can easily access the right help at the right time.
We’re looking to appoint a number of Family Hub Support Workers to join our vibrant Family Hub teams in across Devon—an exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver this innovative, community-focused approach to supporting families:
• 1 x Full-time (37 hours) Family Hubs Support Worker - 1 year fixed term contract – North /Mid locality.
• 1 x Full-time (37 hours) Family Hubs Support Worker - 1 year fixed term contract – Exeter / East locality.
About the roles
The key function of this role is to provide a flexible and agile offer to families, which is place based, outreach and virtual in its delivery model. The role will be family facing by supporting improvements in outcomes for children and families through the delivery of advice and guidance, delivery of group support and learning opportunities, in partnership with families, the community and our Early Help Partnership. The post holder will take a Whole Family approach in their practice and work around the times of the family. As such, this post will be expected to work flexibly including at evenings and weekends. They will be a member of a team with the responsibility for securing consistency of approach across the whole of the county, and therefore will need to ensure that local practice is compliant with the expectations of Devon’s Early Help offer. As part of this approach this role will be expected to work as part of an integrated Family Hub Team and Family Hub network of partners in providing support to children, young people and families. Family Hubs will operate as part of the wider Early help offer in Devon, where children and families are placed at the heart of what we do. Family Hubs are intended to be a local innovation developed to meet local needs and better support families.
About you
You should be able to demonstrate that you meet the essential requirements of the posts person specification. Holding a relevant qualification in Health, Social Work, Education, Youth Work, or a related field to NVQ 3 level or equivalent minimum, plus demonstrable experience in care & intervention practice. English at a GCSE grade 4 or above (A-C) or level 2 equivalent. And / or Experience of working with families with multiple and complex needs whilst maintaining an outcome focus.
