New housing development. Assistant Site Manager Required. Work based in Cavan and Border regions

Hays are recruiting on behalf of an N.I. based Civil & Construction Engineering Contractor who requires an Assistant Site Manager on a permanent basis to work on a new residential scheme based in the border region. With a current headcount of circa 160 permanent members of staff, this company has a turnover of £80+million and has built an excellent in-house team of strong operational, commercial and support staff to ensure the business stays at the forefront of the construction industry. Your new role This is a new project starting at Easter 2024, consisting of 44 new housing developments and will have a programme of work for the next 18 months. You will be involved in all aspects of the build, including overseeing civils / groundwork, and taking the properties through to the full lifecycle of development to handover.
Some of your duties and responsibilities will include:
1. Responsible for the construction site, including subcontractors, health and safety of personnel, & quality of labour.
2. Managing and co-ordinating site labour and agency staff.
3. Responsible for assisting in the overall management and day to day on-site activity.
4. Assisting the Site manager managing the short-term programme to maximise efficiency and ensure completion is in accordance with the schedule.
5. Assisting the Site Manager with management responsibilities for all Health and Safety policies and procedure.
6. Delivery of projects on time and to a high specification.
7. Responsible for all document control as an integral part of the project control.
8. Maintain the Integrated Management System (IMS), policies and procedures.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, ideally you have previous experience of working in a similar Assistant Site Manager role, preferably within residential or civils schemes, but those in other sectors will still be considered. You will be a self-starter, with a can-do attitude and a good level of organisation. You will possess a high level of communication and be responsible for ensuring the site team are briefed daily on the scheduled works programme. As an individual, you should hold strong numeracy and IT skills, including MS Office, Word, and Excel.
