Hays Legal is instructed by this organisation seeking to appoint a senior litigator/in-house compliance and regulatory lawyer in this key role, reporting to the General Counsel.
Ideal candidates will be experienced litigators currently working in a national or international law firm (commercial litigation/financial litigation/regulatory) and wanting to move in-house, or qualified lawyers already in a compliance role in a law firm or corporate. Experience of AML and financial crime would be advantageous but is not essential.
Joining a highly regarded in-house team, the successful candidate will be a trusted advisor, providing expertise and solutions on regulatory, compliance, professional conduct issues and occasionally on claims/litigation. The role requires a proactive individual who can run projects and liaise with senior stakeholders (including senior management and committees) on a regular basis.
Day to day responsibilities include advising on legal, regulatory and ethical standards, advising on claims & complaints, investigating potential conduct issues, designing and implementing compliance systems and procedures, leading risk management projects on a global basis, developing and rolling out policies, providing training and supervising more junior colleagues.
This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level (5+) to senior lawyer seeking a wide-ranging and stimulating role within a fast-moving and collegiate environment. Lawyers working 4 or 5 days a week are equally of interest. Hybrid working - applications are welcome from lawyers outside of Yorkshire (North West, North East and Midlands).
On offer is a very attractive remuneration package offering a generous basic and bonus and additional benefits. Only those with UK experience will be considered.
