About the role
On a day-to-day basis duties will include:
1. operate and update the Social Services Information Database system and Collections database
2. ensure all information in relation to clients is received and verified to ensure correct payment is made to the home and that the client is invoiced correctly
3. review and manage payment runs to provide prompt and timely payment of fees to Residential Homes
4. ensure that clients who are assessed as needing to pay for part or all of their care are invoiced and are making regular payments to the Council
5. act on behalf of the clients that have requested appointeeships
6. monitor and reconcile benefit payments into the Authority’s bank account against the Collections database
7. maintaining the residential care register to enable accountancy staff and budget holders to monitor commitments, expenditure and income
8. deal with an array of email and phone queries, tailoring any communication and making it relevant to the individual or circumstances
About the candidate
We are looking to recruit an individual:
9. with 2 years of demonstrable experience of understanding and/or performing a financial role
10. with a high level of interpersonal skills, has a courteous and professional manner and has the ability to deal with sensitive and contentious issues with a caring, patient, sympathetic, tactful manner
11. with an ability to work to deadlines and to prioritise competing and conflicting workloads
12. with an ability to carry out tasks with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and professionalism
13. who maintains confidentiality at all times
14. that has an up to date knowledge of Microsoft software packages, especially Outlook, Word and Excel
Due to the requirements of the role the successful candidate must have a level of Welsh fluency on appointment.
