Client in Washington DC seeks a proficientProject Controls Specialist to join the prestigious intercity FleetProgram. This role is pivotal in ensuring the success of thisgroundbreaking initiative aiming to redefine U.S. intercitypassenger rail travel through innovative rolling stock solutions.As part of the newly established Capital Delivery organization thisrole will play a vital role in setting the standard for programmanagement in major capitalprojects.
Responsibilities:
* Assistin monthly analysis and reporting of cost performance providingdetailed insights to enhance project performance and forecasting aswell as supporting corporate reporting and grants management.
* Coordinate bottomup forecasts monthly andquarterly to evaluate performance against Total Life of ProjectCost and Schedule facilitating evaluation of new scope or potentialchanges.
* Review and vet invoices with CostEngineering Team and Program Managers for receipt into theAribaonDemand system aiding in the development and tracking ofmonthly accruals.
* Contribute to theorganizational development of the annual operating plan.
Deliverables:
* Deliverprograms and projects on schedule and on budget.
* Present projects at Quality Gates andPortfolio Review sessions.
Requirements:
* BachelorsDegree in Engineering Science Business or related field (equivalentexperience may be considered).
* Minimum 3 yearsof experience in project controls with a focus on cost controls forlarge capital construction projects programs and/or portfolios.
* Demonstrated effectiveness in diplomaticallycollaborating across teams with varying objectives.
* Excellent oral and written communicationskills.
Preferred:
* Experiencewith data analysis particularly in Excel and PowerBI.
* One or more certifications/credentials such asPSP CEP EVP or CCP (AACE).
* Graduate Degree orbackground in the transportation industry.
