Four on / Four off rota, various shift patterns.
This is an exciting opportunity to support young adults and care leavers to prepare for independence, moving to their first home and with education and career choices.
The ideal candidate will come from a background of supporting young people to enable them to do things for themselves, and are able to recognise a clients support need from interactions.
They will have a knowledge of safeguarding and when to make a safeguarding referral and, are able to work within company policies and procedures to offer supportive outcomes for the clients that we work with.
A knowledge of the benefit system and housing pathways is a bonus.
A team player is essential.
The ideal candidate will be confident to engage young adults and care leavers, to build relationships and support the clients to recognise their support needs.
JOB PURPOSE
To lead on the case management of clients and be part of a team that supports them in keeping them safe and helping them achieve their goals.
To provide people with homes and specialist support so they feel more valued and secure, and ready to take the next steps.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To assess the needs of each client, helping to develop their individual support plan to achieve their goals
2. To produce and regularly review comprehensive client-based risk assessments
3. To manage a caseload of clients on a one-to-one basis
4. To support clients to gain and/or maintain accommodation or achieve outcomes defined by the service specification
5. To engage with local authorities, health providers and other agencies, creating and maintaining constructive working relationships to maximise the opportunities available to clients
6. To lead on client activities to help them gain practical life skills and encourage their engagement with the running of the service
7. To support clients with managing their finances, paying rent, managing arrears and accessing benefits
8. To encourage and signpost clients to the local community and to resources relevant to their aspirations including education, training, employment activity or volunteering
9. To support clients in trauma informed and psychologically informed ways
10. To adhere to safeguarding responsibilities, following our safeguarding policy and procedure
11. To help maintain health and safety, ensuring clients, visitors and buildings are safe in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, policy and procedures
12. To provide basic first aid assistance until help arrives (full training is provided)
13. To work confidently and efficiently when lone working
14. To maintain accurate records on our client management system and ensure these are stored in line with GDPR
15. To maintain confidentiality
16. To represent the organisation in a professional manner
17. To carry out any other reasonable duties required in the interest of the organisation
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
18. This role will require an Enhanced with Barred List(s) disclosure and barring service check is a requirement for this role. This would be completed on appointment of the role
19. This role may require a full drivers’ licence and access to a vehicle
20. This role will require you to work with clients on a one-to-one basis
21. This role will require you to work nights and/or weekends
22. This role will require you to lone work
23. Professional experience with working with vulnerable young people a preference
24. Knowledge of safeguarding children and adults a preference
25. Knowledge of childhood ACE's a preference

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
28. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
29. Clear verbal and written English
30. Good keyboard skills for data inputting
31. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
32. Confident and assertive manner
33. Ability to self-motivate as you will work on your own
34. Effective team working
35. Ability to respond calmly to crisis
36. Deal promptly with and effectively react to challenging situations
37. Have an interest and genuine concern for homelessness and related issues
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
38. Experience of managing a caseload of clients
39. Understanding of risk assessment and person-centred, outcomes-based delivery
40. Understanding of the support needs of people experiencing homelessness or those with complex needs
41. Knowledge of voluntary and statutory agencies, housing regulations and the benefits system
