RSK Raw, part of the RSK Group, is offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Environmental Consultant to join our team near Cambridge, UK. RSK Raw offers multi‑disciplinary environmental protection and risk reduction services to a wide range of industries and clients across the UK, specialising in spill response, contamination investigation and remediation projects.
Responsibilities
* Pro‑active assessment of pollution risks and application of techniques to contain and recover contaminants.
* Maintaining accurate site notes, excellent time management, organisational and communication skills.
* Managing and delivering Phase I and Phase II site investigations.
* Managing rapid response to environmental incidents in urban and rural settings.
* Organising, managing and supervising site works.
* Procuring and managing subcontractors, ensuring financial and health‑and‑safety control.
* Preparing and reviewing cost proposals, tenders and complex factual reports.
* Preparing and reviewing Health and Safety documentation, including method statements, risk assessments and site records.
* Adherence to RSK Raw management systems, including site‑specific and point‑of‑work health & safety risk assessments and method statements.
* Financial control of allocated projects, including invoicing, purchase orders and payment chasing.
* Ensuring compliance with project contract conditions.
* Accountable for management and performance of projects and continued delivery of a high‑quality service, providing clear, commercially focused solutions.
* Pro‑active client management, maintaining good communication throughout the lifecycle of a project and providing regular progress reports.
* To ensure maximum flexibility, you may be asked to perform additional tasks that may be reasonably expected within your level of capability without additional remuneration.
Additional Information
* 24/7 response service; may be required to work out of normal operating hours for which you are compensated.
* Travel required throughout England, Scotland and Wales.
* Occasional need to stay away from home when required.
* Incident response and tank testing training is provided; other training and development opportunities will be available.
* Opportunities available for collaborative working with other Response and Remediation businesses with the RSK Group.
Qualifications / Experience
* At least 5 years relevant industry experience.
* Project management experience.
* A degree level qualification in a science, environment, land related subject.
* Membership of a professional body.
* Flexible attitude to work.
* Enthusiasm and drive to deliver the requirements of this role.
* Ability to work as an effective member of a team and on your own initiative.
* Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
* CSCS card.
* Full UK / EC driving licence (essential).
