CNC Lathe Operator Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be highly experienced and be proficient in operating CNC lathes to produce precision components. You will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process, ensuring that all parts meet stringent quality standards and specifications. This position requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The job will also involve operating other machines as and when required - training will be provided if necessary.
Duties
* Program and operate CNC lathes to fabricate and assemble precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
* Interpret technical drawings and CAD files.
* Conduct regular inspections of machinery and tools to ensure optimal performance.
* Perform tooling changes and basic maintenance on CNC equipment.
* Utilise hand tools for assembly and adjustments as necessary.
* Manage materials handling, ensuring that all materials are stored correctly and safely.
* Collaborate with team members to improve production processes and efficiency.
* Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Experience
* Proven experience as a CNC Lathe Programmer/Setter/Operator or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
* Familiarity with CAD software.
* Experience in warehouse operations, including materials handling and inventory management.
* Proficient in using hand tools for fabrication and assembly tasks.
* Knowledge of tooling requirements for various machining processes is preferred.
